Accessible Village Walk in Steinhaus/Cadipietra
This accessible walk begins at the car park next to the Pfisterhaus. After passing through the historic building, visitors reach the Tourist Information Office as well as the exhibitions of the Mining Museum, including the permanent exhibition and the special exhibition “Shovels for the Gods”.
The route then continues towards Klausberg. After crossing the bridge, the path follows the stream to the Wenger bus stop. At the Stochas restaurant, the bridge is crossed again and the walk continues along the footpath on the left bank of the river (orographic left side) as far as the Klausberg valley station.
Passing meadows and fields, the route leads to Unterberg. Here, the bridge and road are crossed before continuing via Maurer Square to the Grain Store Steinhaus/Cadipietra, one of the Mining Museum’s exhibition sites. From there, the route returns to the starting point.
Steinhaus/Cadipietra is renowned for its distinctive village character, shaped by its historic red mining buildings and the beautiful Maria Loreto Church. This circular walk combines nature, culture and history, offering fascinating insights into the mining heritage of the Ahrntal Valley.
