Tschigat / Monte Cigot (3,000 m) is one of the most striking peaks in the Texel Group and one of the 13 three-thousand-metre summits within the municipality of Partschins.
Its exposed and partly unstable west ridge makes it a demanding alpine objective suitable only for experienced mountaineers.

Tour Description
From the Texelbahn mountain station, follow the Merano High Mountain Trail 24 to Nasereit Hut (1,525 m).
Take trail 8 into the Zieltal Valley and continue to Lodnerhütte / Rifugio Cima Fiammante (2,259 m).
From the hut, ascend via trail 7 to the Tablander Lacken "lakes" (2,649 m) and further to Halsjoch (2,808 m).
Continue on trail 7A along the exposed and partly loose west ridge to the summit of Tschigat (3,000 m).
Descend along the same route.
Did you know?
Tschigat is considered one of the most technically demanding three-thousand-metre peaks in the Texel Group due to its exposed west ridge.
The name is believed to have pre-Roman or Rhaeto-Romanic origins, making it much older than modern German or Italian place names in the region.
The west ridge to the summit of Tschigat is partly loose.
