This hike starts at the famous pilgrimage site of Maria Weißenstein and takes you through a charming alpine landscape full of peace and natural beauty. The gentle trail is perfect for those seeking a relaxing walk immersed in nature. This tour offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers, families, and anyone wanting to experience the beauty of the Dolomites up close.
Start at the pilgrimage site Maria Weißenstein (approx. 1,211 m). Follow trail [2] towards Petersberger Leger Alm. After about 1.5 km, you will reach this idyllic alpine hut, perfect for a short break. Continue on trail [2] to the Neuhütt Alm (approx. 1,565 m), located on a sunny alpine meadow.
From Neuhütt Alm, take trail [1], which then turns into trail [1A], leading you up to the Auerleger Alm (approx. 1,777 m), rewarded with magnificent panoramic views of the Dolomites. Enjoy the peace and scenery here.
The return route follows trail [2] back to Petersberger Leger Alm, then trail [1], and finally trail [1B] back to Maria Weißenstein.
The trails are well marked and signposted, making it easy to follow the route without difficulties.
Getting to the starting point of the tour by public transport is easy and convenient.
By public bus line:
- 180 or 181 from Bozen | Bolzano
- 180 or 184 from Karersee | Lago di Carezza, Karerpass | Passo Costalunga, Welschnofen | Nova Levante
- 184 from Birchabruck | Ponte Nova, Stenk, Eggen | Ega
- 184 from Petersberg | Monte San Pietro, Deutschnofen | Nova Ponente
- 182 from Steinegg | Collepietra, Gummer | San Valentino
- 180 from Val di Fassa
