Traditions and customs are an important part of South Tyrolean identity and are closely connected with the mountain landscape, farming life, faith and village communities. Along the Tirolersteig, information panels tell about traditional customs, religious festivals and processions, as well as rural life in the past. Music bands, Schützen, traditional costume groups and local associations also continue to shape cultural life and help pass traditions and values on to future generations.
The Tirolersteig is a varied circular hike leading steeply past the Karbacherhof up to the Hörneggele, the scenic highlight of the tour. The challenging ascent requires sure-footedness and good physical fitness. The return follows a less demanding hiking trail back to the starting point. Along the route, information panels offer insights into the history, traditions and culture of the Gsiesertal Valley.
