The two viewpoints, Rotwand and Rotenstein, are located above the Laives/Leifers mountain hamlet of La Costa/Seit and offer a marvellous view down over Laives and across the valley to the Mendel range (Mendelkamm), as well as towards Kaltern/Caldaro and Eppan/Appiano.
From the Schneiderwiesen inn, Rotwand can be reached in about 45 minutes and Rotenstein in a further 15 minutes. Start by following trail no. 1, passing the “Blauer Herrgott” shrine, then keep left until trail no. 1B branches off, leading to the Rotwand viewpoint. After enjoying the view, return to trail no. 1 and follow it to the "Totes Moos" biotope. Just before the biotope, take trail no. 1A, which leads all the way to Rotenstein.
By car to the Schneiderwiesen inn, then on foot: around 45 minutes to Rotwand and a further 15 minutes to Rotenstein.
