Falzeben (Hafling) - S. Jakob (Langfenn)

Falzeben/Falzeben, Hafling/Avelengo, Bolzano/Bozen and environs
The romanesque church St. Jakob on the Langfenn
from center

This excursion is a very beautiful daytour along various peaks, which you ascend without much effort. The best way to arrive at the parkingspace Falzeben is to take the bus from Mölten. From Lavenna you can return easily to Mölten by autobus or walking.

The romanesque church St. Jakob on the Langfenn is positioned on the highest and most visible point of the Salto (1525m). The church stands on prehistoric ground and could tell us probably many interesting and exciting historical things. On the altar we can see St. Jakob, the protector of all hikers, and on his side the two Patrons of the pest, Rochus and Sebastian.

Itinerary

If you start at Falzeben (Hafling) you have to ascend to Meran 2000. There are two ways to arrive at Meran 2000: by cable car or by a 140 minute walk on path no. 14. From Meran 2000 you should take the paths no. 4  and E5, which leads directly to Langfenn, you destination aim. By taking these ways you pass the malga "Meraner Hütte" and various peaks, as the peak "Spieler" (2080m) and "Maier Rast" (2027m). You walk also on the peak "Kreuzjoch" (2086m) and pass lateral the "Schwarzwand". You walk along the "Möltner Joch" to the malga "Möltner Kaser", which lies directly under the "Stoanerne Mandler".  Finally you reach the parkingplace Schermoos, from where it takes you only 15 minutes to Langfenn.
