Knüppelweg to the hut Sesselschwaige

The starting point is the bus stop in Ums. From there, follow trail no. 3, which initially runs along a short section of asphalt road before turning into a hiking path. A steady climb leads to Hofer Alpl. After Hofer Alpl, continue on trail no. 3, which then merges into trail no. 1. At a junction, stay on the upper section of trail no. 1 rather than taking trail no. 7. At the “Peter Frag” cross, the routes rejoin. From here, trail no. 1 continues toward Sesselschwaige. This section, known as the “Prügelsteig,” runs partly steeply through a narrow and impressive rocky gorge. Wooden planks, bridges, and safety cables facilitate the passage. From Sesselschwaige, the descent begins along trail no. 2 through the “Bärenfalle” toward Weißlahnbad. The path passes through a dramatic gorge with numerous wooden steps and bridges. In the lower section, you pass the “Tschetterloch,” a small legendary cave above the trail. Finally, the path leads through a pine forest down to the valley. A stop at the Tschamin Schwaige is a great way to end the tour.
