St. Erasmus Chapel

Taisten/Tesido, Welsberg-Taisten/Monguelfo-Tesido
Late Gothic funerary chapel of the Welsperg family with frescoes, tomb slabs and refined artistic details.
from center

St. Erasmus Chapel is a significant late Gothic funerary chapel built in 1470/71. Its interior features frescoes by Simon of Taisten, finely crafted tomb slabs and heraldic funeral shields. A highlight is the keystone from the workshop of Michael Pacher. Restored in 2023, the chapel offers a rare insight into Tyrolean art and noble history.
