The starting point is the village square in Laion. From here, follow the signs for trail no. 5, which leads gently downhill through meadows and woodland edges. The path is easy to walk and already offers the first lovely views of the Isarco Valley.
After a short while, turn onto trail no. 2A, which continues downhill and leads into a quieter forest section. The trail remains well maintained and descends at a moderate gradient.
At the next junction, continue on trail no. 2B, which guides hikers further towards Castle Forte. Finally, you join trail no. 2, which leads directly to the castle.
Descent: From Castle Forte, follow the well‑marked path down to Ponte Gardena. The bus stop is located in the village, with regular connections back to Laion.
