Winter hike Kreuzwirt – Bühel – St. Peter loop (St. Jakob in Ahrntal)
This varied circular winter hike combines peaceful nature, sunny sections, and wide-open views, offering a rewarding experience in the upper Ahrntal valley.
The starting point is the Kreuzwirt bus stop in St. Jakob. From here, the trail ascends gently to Bühel, where beautiful views of the surrounding winter landscape await. The route then follows the road towards Kordiler – a მშვიდ and sunny stretch, especially enjoyable on clear days.
Continue towards St. Peter to the small settlement of Marche. Here, cross the road and proceed towards the Hofer farm. With gentle ups and downs, the trail then leads via Hollechn through a picturesque snowy landscape, gradually heading back down the valley.
The return brings you back to the Kreuzwirt bus stop, completing the loop.
Tip: ideal for hikers looking for a მშვიდ and less frequented winter route. Proper winter footwear is recommended; microspikes or poles may be useful depending on conditions.
