This short hike below the Rosengarten is ideal if you want to enjoy impressive Dolomite views with minimal effort. A varied landscape of shady conifer forests and open alpine meadows awaits you. Along the way, beautiful views of the Rosengarten and Latemar repeatedly open up, making this tour particularly appealing. The Masarè Hut is nestled in blooming alpine meadows and set against the imposing backdrop of the Rotwand, which defines the panorama. On the sunny terrace, you can relax and fully enjoy the alpine surroundings – a perfect place to soak in the unique atmosphere of the Dolomites.
The tour begins at the Kaiserstein parking area or bus stop, located directly on the Niger Pass road. From there, trail no. 6C initially climbs gently through shady conifer forests. The wide hiking path is relatively gentle at first but becomes somewhat steeper further along. Along the way, beautiful views of Latemar and Rosengarten open up again and again. After about 200 meters of elevation gain, the forest gradually thins out and the landscape transitions into open alpine meadows. Finally, you reach the Masarè Hut, which is idyllically situated among mountain meadows below the Rosengarten.
