Gabriele Ciot, from Cortina d'Ampezzo, has been passionate about drawing since a young age, graduating from the Cortina Art Institute in 2006.
He later took watercolor and drawing courses and exhibited his works in exhibitions between Cortina and Padua.
He prefers trees and mountains as his subjects, fascinated by the shapes and contrasts that light creates on them.
The Gustav Mahler Music Weeks are celebrating their 45th anniversary in 2025 and will take place in Dobbiaco from 12 July to 5 August. The festival honours the composer, who created his last masterpieces here, with top-class orchestral and chamber music concerts, an international symposium on the topic of ‘Mahler and humour’ and exciting lectures. A special highlight is the hike to the composer's cottage with musical accompaniment. The concerts take place in the Gustav Mahler Hall of the Grand Hotel Toblach cultural centre - surrounded by the impressive backdrop of the Dolomites.
Dolomythos-Museum at Innichen presents: Women scientists
Many women, hardly mentioned in earlier times, made important contributions. We honour these often forgotten personalities, as well as the reserches of ordinary people from the valleys.
Together with the herb fairy Tamara you will get to know different herbs and their effects and enchant them with various recipes for products: creams, ointments, tinctures, juice, salt,....
She will share her knowledge about different herbs with you and will be happy to answer all your herbal questions!
In the end you will be rich in various recipes and homemade herbal products.

Picnic in the most beautiful places in Niederdorf Villabassa, in the middle of the Dolomites
Tuesdays to Fridays
Enjoy an idyllic picnic amidst the breathtaking Dolomites. The filled picnic basket can be reserved through the Tourist Info. It can be picked up from 9 am and returned within 6 pm of the same day or the next morning at 9 am.
The picnic basket is filled with local products: bread, cheese, sausages, pastries and fruit from Villabassa and the surrounding area. The basket also contains a reusable glass bottle, which you can use to fill up with fresh water at the public fountains. (Vegetarian option on request). Experience a culinary highlight in the most beautiful places of Villabassa and let yourself be enchanted by the unique surroundings of the Dolomites.

Please note that a deposit of €50 is required when collecting the picnic basket. This will be refunded in full upon return of the complete basket (without damage).

During Winter Season they organize the tasting experience for a minimum of 10 people.
Together with the hiking guide, you will hike from Altprags/Braies Vecchia up to the rustic Putzalm hut, where a small alpine snack awaits you. The hut landlord Seppl is known for his typical, delicious dishes!
After a refreshment stop, you hike up to the Allwartstein summit (1,954 m), where you have a breathtaking view. The descent takes you back to the starting point at Altprags/Braies Vecchia on a variant of the ascent route.
The pure walking time of the circular hike is 4 hours with 600 metres of ascent.
How it works:
Grab a Cleanup-Bag at the tourist office and take it with you on your hike. Pick up litter along the way and take three cool photos to show your mission. At the end, return the bag and get a small gift from our Sexten shop – a thank-you for your effort!

Enter the via ferrata at the first rays of sunlight. Up to the summit cross, everyone can enjoy the quiet dawn in the Dolomites for themselves. Experience a fascinating sunrise with a stunning view of the Three Peaks at the summit of the Paternkofel. Arrived at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Hut, the day is still young, there is the possibility - depending on your desire and condition - to continue to enjoy the Three Peaks and return to the starting point by public transport. Backpack provision.

We go by bus to Signaue, then we take the Drei Zinnen cable car to the Stiergarten. Hike along the tracks of old smugglers' trails via the Klammbach hut and Nemesalm hut towards the Kreuzberg Pass/Passo Monte Croce Comelico. There we take the bus back to the starting point.

We will have fun learning how to take our first steps on rock. We will practise knots, rope manoeuvres, belaying techniques on rock and via ferrata, advice on nutrition and the right behaviour in dangerous situations.

Two local producers – a butcher, a dairy and a bakery – bring the best of their products directly to us at the Haus der Berge. In a warm and authentic atmosphere, they share not only their delicious specialties but also fascinating stories and insights about their craft.

Anyone who cultivates a passion for culture and music knows that Dobbiaco holds a treasure trove.
Lying on a meadow overlooking the village and the entire valley, close to the forest towards Pian di Maia, is a small, simple wooden building. The building at first glance appears very modest, but stands proud and aware of its incredible significance and history. Between those planks, in fact, the famous Bohemian composer Gustav Mahler, accompanied by his beloved Alma, between the summers of 1908 and 1910, found peace and inspiration to compose some of his most beautiful and important symphonies, among them 'Das Lied von der Erde' (The Song of the Earth).
After careful restoration, the composition house at the Trenkerhof finally reopens its doors to all those who want to breathe in the history and atmosphere of the Belle Epoque. During the summer months of July and August, every Wednesday and every Friday from 3 to 5 p.m., in collaboration with the Santer Family, owner of the cultural asset, every visitor will have the chance to step back in time and breathe in the magic of those places and the surrounding nature. They will be welcomed by a very special hostess... Alma, the composer's beloved companion until her death in 1911, herself an eclectic and important figure in the history of world culture, who will make the visit even more special with stories and anecdotes.
Admission to the park and the composition house is free of charge.
On-site parking is available, but only in combination with a visit to the Wildlife Park.

Art meets history: an exciting joint exhibition with artists from Val Gardena/Gröden to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the SS hostages in Villabassa.
Artistic creation, whether in wood, on canvas or through photography, as a fragile fragment of freedom.
Short circular walk (slightly uphill) of approx. 50 min. on asphalt or gravel road to the Kleinmarer farm. We visit the farm with stable, animals and garden. The experience for the whole family is rounded off with a tasting of typical farm products. The way back to the starting point takes approx. 40 min. Alternatively, we can also use the same route back.
