In summer, cows, sheep, goats and horses head up to South Tyrol’s high mountain pastures. In autumn, they return to the valley. After a successful summer on the mountain pastures, farming families decorate their animals with flowers, wreaths and bells. Music and regional specialities turn the transhumance into a celebration.
