“Morning is the golden hour”. Never a truer word was said, as you’ll see when you get to the Rosszahnscharte ridge high above the Seiser Alm and behold the glow of early-morning light over the Dolomites at dawn.
A shuttle service will take you to the Seiser Alm. Together with the mountain guide, you hike towards Panorama and, later, cross the slopes of the Goldknopf at the foot of the Rosszahnscharte ridge. A narrow hiking trail then winds upwards in a steep ascent to the Rosszahnscharte ridge (2,499 m), for the breath-taking beauty of the sunrise. Just a few minutes’ walk from here will take you to the Tierser Alpl mountain refuge, where you can recharge your batteries for the descent with a mountain breakfast.

10 min from Rosszahnscharte ridge to Tierser Alpl mountain refuge (0,7 km; 56 m downhill)
2:05 h from Tierser Alpl mountain refuge to Compatsch (6,9 km; 56 m uphill, 663 m downhill)

    Everything you need to know

    Seiser Alm
    POINTS OF ACCESS
    bus station in Kastelruth
    valley station of the cableway in Seis
    parking lot Spitzbühl
    parking lot Compatsch
    or along the route
    at the tourist offices until 12:00 noon on the day before the event or online
    In addition to standard hiking clothes, you also need good hiking boots, a wind jacket, approx. 500 ml of fluids and possibly a hat, gloves and hiking poles. You will be provided with a headlamp at the meet-up point.

    DIFFICULTY: difficult / good physical condition is required.
    Suitable for adults and teenagers from 16 years!
    The hike will take place with a minimum of 5 participants.
    The refund of the paid amount will be reimbursed only in case of cancellation by the organizer.
    The price includes the sunrise hike from Seiser Alm to the Rosszahnscharte ridge with the professional hiking guide and a breakfast at the Tierser Alpl Mountain Refuge.
