Every-Body-Knows-What-Tomorrow-Brings-And-We-All-Know-What-Happened-Yesterday

An intense and radical solo that becomes a political gesture: Mohamed Toukabri's third work, premiered at the last Festival d'Avignon, arrives at Bolzano Danza to interrogate history, identity and power through the body.

Inspired by decolonial thinking, the work explores the relationship between dance, migration and the transmission of knowledge. Toukabri, known for crossing different languages — from street to stage, from hip hop to contemporary dance — focuses his research here on the very architecture of movement, questioning hierarchies and conventions. The stage becomes a space where styles and traditions meet without competing: forms often considered marginal enter into dialogue with canonical ones, opening up new expressive possibilities. The body becomes a living archive, a place where personal and collective histories intertwine.

Rather than offering answers, the work poses questions: what do we choose to hand down? Which stories remain visible? A solo that is deeply personal yet open to the gaze of others — an invitation to rethink the present in order to imagine a different future.
