As the historic mill wheels of Aldein begin to turn, grain is milled into flour and the smell of freshly baked bread fills the air, the Mill Festival returns. Watch every stage of the bread-making process, from grain to loaf, join a guided tour of the historic watermills, and enjoy local food, a farmers' market and traditional live music.
From 8:00 a.m.
Lighting the historic wood-fired oven, followed by bread dough preparation.
10:30 a.m.
Guided tour of the historic mills and the Thal Chapel.
2:00 p.m.
Second guided tour of the historic mills and the Thal Chapel.
From approximately 2:30 p.m.
Bread baking in the wood-fired oven.
The historic mills are open from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m.
Food and refreshments are available throughout the day from the Hof im Thal.
Traditional live music by the Voldeiner Tanzlmusi.

Everything you need to know
Parking is available at the Aldein fire station and in the village centre. The Mill Festival can only be reached on foot and is about a 20-30-minute walk away.
