Ritten – Quiet Observations, Guided Tour with a Walk

Ursula Schnitzer, the exhibition's curator and originator, will guide participants through the exhibition, offering fascinating insights into the life and work of photographer Oswald Kofler. The tour is followed by a walk to Maria Assunta and the Menz family memorial.

Meeting point: 9.30 a.m. at the Ritten Tourist Office in Oberbozen / railway station.

In the historic railway station building of Oberbozen, Silent Observations presents a selection of analogue photographs by Oswald Kofler, a Bolzano-born artist and photographer who devoted more than five decades to photography.

With a subtle and poetic eye, Kofler captured people, landscapes, and quiet details of everyday life. His black-and-white photographs in particular are distinguished by their precision, atmosphere, and graphic clarity.

Since childhood, the Ritten plateau was an important retreat and place of work for Kofler — a close connection that is powerfully reflected in the photographs on display.

The exhibition is open until 8 November, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm.

The memorial of the Menz family is a unique neoclassical monument from the year 1818, commissioned by Peregrin Ritter von Menz in memory of his family.
