About the film:
France, 1975: Seyolo Zantoko, a doctor from the Congo, accepts a position as the local physician in the small village of Marly-Gomont. Together with his family, he hopes to build a new life in France. However, the villagers initially greet the newcomers with suspicion and open prejudice, as many of them have never met a Black person before. With patience, humour, and compassion, Seyolo gradually wins the trust and hearts of the local community. Based on a true story, this uplifting film tells a moving yet humorous tale of integration, courage, and mutual respect. A charming and life-affirming comedy that shows how human connection can overcome prejudice and bring people together.
