1st Italian Hike & Fly Championship 2026

A milestone for flying sports: Hike & Fly has been officially recognized as a sport! To mark this occasion, the very first official Italian Hike & Fly Championship will take place from September 23 to 26, 2026, against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sextner Dolomites and the Gsieser Valley.

Hike & Fly combines mountaineering and paragliding: Athletes cover predetermined routes on foot and in the air. During the championship, participants must reach various waypoints (turnpoints) on foot or fly to them by paraglider.

The Italian Championship features four exciting challenges spread over four competition days, which will be optimally adjusted depending on weather conditions:

September 23 – Sexten: Task 1 (Start & Finish in the area of the Sexten sports facilities)
September 24 – Gsies: Task 2
September 25 – Gsies: Task 3
September 26 – Sexten: Task 4 (Start & Finish in the area of the Sexten sports facilities)

On Saturday, September 26, the awards ceremony will take place in the late afternoon at the Sexten sports facilities. This will be followed by a closing party for athletes, volunteers, fans, and visitors.
