Vifs + Baroc'Bal
An Italian premiere presenting two works by French choreographer Bruno Benne, who reimagines baroque dance with contemporary energy and sensibility.
Since 2013, Bruno Benne and his company Beaux-Champs have been reinterpreting the codes of baroque dance for modern audiences, bringing it out of its traditional settings.
In VIFS – water music, a quartet of performers brings to life a luminous choreography inspired by Georg Friedrich Händel's celebrated Water Music, here reworked by Youri Bessières. Movements emerge and expand through space like water in play, in symmetries and impulses that evoke baroque aesthetics. Dance becomes a visual orchestration in which gesture and music reflect and amplify each other.
With Baroc'Bal, the atmosphere turns festive and participatory. Inspired by the court balls of Louis XIV, the piece invites the audience onto the stage: guided by a dance master, participants take part in processions and collective choreographies, with bows, parades and contemporary echoes.
Two complementary works weaving history and present together, transforming dance into a shared, elegant and surprising experience.
