Timmelsjoch Loop: From Hochfirst to idyllic Lake Seebersee and Glaneggalm Hut. Scenic alpine trail in the Passeier Valley.
Circular Hike at the Timmelsjoch Pass from Gasthof Hochfirst to Lake Seebersee
We travel by coach into the Passeier Valley, turning left at the main village of St. Leonhard to reach our starting point on the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road: the Gasthaus Hochfirst (1,860 m). We begin by descending along a forest road until we reach the hiking trail coming up from Rabenstein. From there, the path leads at a moderate to medium incline to the Seeberalm, continuing into the pristine Seeber Valley and up narrow paths to the idyllically situated Lake Seebersee. The lake is nestled between the mighty peaks of the Hochfirst, Granatkogel, and Seeberspitze. We walk around the lake and continue across rolling terrain to the "Obere Glaneggalm". We will stop there for refreshments, and after a leisurely rest, a final 20-minute walk brings us back out to the Timmelsjoch Road, where the bus will be waiting for our return journey.
