General Information

The Museum of Novacella Abbey presents valuable art treasures from the Middle Ages and the Early Modern period.

A visit to the museum also includes access to the abbey’s most important historic rooms: the church with its late Baroque interior, the cloister with its Gothic frescoes, the famous library hall and the Rococo Chinese Cabinet, which was discovered in 2020/21.

Experience almost nine centuries of architectural, musical, educational and economic history – an open-ended art history book.

A free audio guide allows you to explore 900 years of art and cultural history at your own pace. Its 18 chapters provide fascinating insights into the history of Novacella Abbey and its community of Augustinian Canons.

Participation in a guided tour of the abbey is only possible with prior booking.

Please arrive at the Infopoint 15 minutes before the guided tour begins.

Admission tickets are available at the Infopoint/Abbey Gate. The museum is open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Last admission is at 4.15 pm.

For online bookings, part of the total amount is payable on site.
