Scenic hike along the Chestnut Trail above the Eisack Valley, through chestnut groves, meadows and forests with stunning views of the Geisler peaks.
Hike on the western slope of the Eisack Valley
Section of the “Keschtnweg” (Chestnut Trail)
We travel by coach through the Eisack Valley to Brixen and continue up to Pinzagen, the starting point of our hike.
We follow a section of the “Keschtnweg” (Chestnut Trail), which stretches from Neustift Monastery near Brixen to Bolzano. The varied trail leads us through colourful mixed forests, across lush green meadows and through picturesque chestnut groves with gentle ascents and descents as far as Oberschnauders. Along the way, we enjoy impressive views of the Geisler peaks opposite.
We stop for lunch at a local inn. After a relaxing break, we descend along meadow paths to Feldthurns, where the bus awaits for the journey home.
