Bolzano Festival Bozen 2026 - European Union Youth Orchestra

Orchestral concerts are the heart of the Bolzano Festival Bozen. These residencies are among the most important cultural traditions of the provincial capital and have shaped its musical profile for decades, renewing themselves with each edition through the enthusiasm, energy and artistic curiosity of a new generation of young orchestral musicians.

The European Union Youth Orchestra will perform at the Stadttheater with a top-tier symphonic programme, conducted by the internationally acclaimed Elim Chan, who at just 39 is already among the most prominent conductors of her generation. On the podium, orchestral energy meets sonic precision and expressive power.

At the centre of the evening is the Violin Concerto by Johannes Brahms, one of the great masterpieces of the Romantic repertoire. The soloist will be the multi-award-winning Spanish violinist María Dueñas, who ranks among the outstanding artists of her generation for her technical brilliance, tonal depth and extraordinary expressiveness. Brahms's only violin concerto combines symphonic density with chamber-music intimacy, placing the highest demands on both soloist and orchestra alike.
