The Bolzano Festival Bozen presents pianist Kit Armstrong as part of its programme. Armstrong is associated with the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition 2026, whose final rounds were originally scheduled for May and have been postponed to September. Further details will be announced shortly.
The concert programme unfolds with a quiet inner coherence, turning on two axes: the Bach–Busoni tradition and the motif of bells. Busoni's Fantasia nach Johann Sebastian Bach stands alongside Armstrong's own Fantasy on B-A-C-H. Grieg's Klokkeklang, William Byrd's The Bells and Saint-Saëns' Les cloches de Las Palmas trace a broad historical arc from English Renaissance virginal music to late-Romantic étude, bound together by the same resonant image.
Programme:
Ferruccio Busoni – Fantasia nach Johann Sebastian Bach, BV 253
