Hike in the Deepest Schnals Valley through the untouched Lagaun Valley to the Berglalm
We travel by coach to Kurzras (2,011 m) at the head of the Schnals Valley, the starting point of our hike. The trail begins with a gentle ascent, soon becoming a bit more strenuous as it winds through beautiful larch and stone pine forests up into the Lagaun Valley. This biotope is considered one of South Tyrol's most beautiful and pristine high valleys. Our path continues through a high moor featuring a small lake and rare flora, then through a stunning stone pine forest with gentle ups and downs toward the Berglalm (2,214 m), where we will stop for refreshments. After an extensive rest, we hike down a forest trail with some short, steeper sections to the Vernagt Reservoir, where the bus will be waiting for our return journey.
Sturdy hiking boots, sun and rain protection, clothing suitable for the season/destination, drinks.
