Flamenco sin Género(s), curated by Esther Regueira Mauriz, explores the most radical and innovative forms of contemporary flamenco. The programme brings together tradition and avant-garde through works that challenge classifications and predetermined boundaries, revealing a flamenco that is alive, plural and in constant transformation. At NOI Techpark in Bolzano: Rocío Márquez with Himno Vertical, Paula Comitre with Après Vous, Madame, and Los Voluble with Flamenco is not a crime.

Himno Vertical – Rocío Márquez
Himno Vertical emerges from the encounter between Andalusian cantaora Rocío Márquez and guitarist Pedro Rojas Ogáyar, transforming the Requiem — traditionally a farewell song and mass in honour of the dead — into a work that celebrates not only the end, but also the beginning, the flow and the transformation. Far from a closed work traceable to a single authorship, the project takes shape as a choral and collective echo: a rite of farewell and welcome at once, a ceremony that invites us to think of life and death not as opposite poles, but as part of a single continuous movement. On stage, Márquez's voice and Rojas Ogáyar's guitar build an intimate and immersive sound space where experimentation, improvisation and creative freedom meet the roots of flamenco jondo, with echoes of classical and contemporary poetry.
Après Vous, Madame – Paula Comitre
In the 1920s, when Paris was the epicentre of the avant-gardes, Antonia Mercé, known as La Argentina (1890–1936), revolutionised flamenco, elevating it to a modern and universal language. From this luminous legacy comes Après vous, madame, a project in which bailaora and choreographer Paula Comitre traverses the artist's legacy to transform it into a bold and visionary contemporary creation. More than a biographical tribute, the work opens a dialogue between eras: the memory of La Argentina meets a new choreographic writing, in which flamenco enters into dialogue with musical research and visual experimentation. On stage, the gesture of dance converses with the sounds of the piano and striking textile installations, creating a space suspended between historical memory and creative invention. The result is a vibrant work, capable of restoring new vitality to an art form that moves through time without ever ceasing to reinvent itself.
Flamenco is not a crime – Los Voluble
Flamenco is not a crime is the audiovisual and performative project of Los Voluble — the duo formed by brothers Pedro and Benito Jimenez — weaving together flamenco, electronica, critical culture and practices of political audiovisual remix. Inspired by the "free party is not a crime" movement and in continuity with the research developed in works such as Raverdial and En el nombre de — centred on the party, the collective dimension and the complexity of remix — the project explores flamenco through some of its most vital tensions: between purism and avant-garde, rebellious spirit and technical virtuosity. Through archival material and live video manipulation, Los Voluble connects flamenco with genres such as gqom, footwork, experimental dub, grime and reggaeton, reclaiming it as a free, open and hybrid space. A project that transcends any idea of purity and relaunches flamenco as a space of freedom, collision and constant reinvention.
