Katrin and Werner Unterlercher have for many years stood for “innovative string music” and, in their basic line-up with folk harp and double bass, make sonic sparks fly. From the very first bars, they manage to let this energy leap across to their audience. For the couple from Tyrol, a single glance at each other is enough – and the music works. One could say that the two “think and feel” with their instruments, and it goes beyond many people’s imagination how much brilliance and sound volume this duo brings to the stage.
By expanding their instrumentation to include electric bass, hammered dulcimer, guitar, and witty vocal interludes, their music is difficult to place in any one category; over time they have developed a style entirely their own. Their original compositions range from tango to waltz, through jazz and modern contemporary music. Entertaining and diverse. The harp floats, the bass grounds. It sounds modern and familiar, sustainable and innovative. This music is music of the future – full of joy for life.
