Sepideh Raissadat and Ensemble Sepidar explore the Dastgāh — Persian modal music balancing oral tradition, improvisation and expressive renewal.

The voice of Sepideh Raissadat meets Ensemble Sepidar on a journey through classical Persian music, departing from the Dastgāh — the modal system that forms one of its deepest foundations. More than a simple set of scales or melodic structures, the Dastgāh is a way of musical thinking: passed down orally from master to student and continuously renewed in the very act of performance. Its richness springs from the balance between memory and invention, between codified repertoire and expressive freedom.
Ensemble Sepidar immerses itself in this tradition not to replicate its ancient forms, but to grasp its most vital spirit — the point at which fidelity to one's roots must necessarily pass through renewal. In this encounter, the past does not disappear; instead it becomes a present voice, opening new horizons of listening.
