Transart26 - Persian Dastgāh Music

The voice of Sepideh Raissadat meets Ensemble Sepidar on a journey through classical Persian music, departing from the Dastgāh — the modal system that forms one of its deepest foundations. More than a simple set of scales or melodic structures, the Dastgāh is a way of musical thinking: passed down orally from master to student and continuously renewed in the very act of performance. Its richness springs from the balance between memory and invention, between codified repertoire and expressive freedom.
