Wolfgang Ambros & Band
Die No. 1 vom Wienerwald - Best of

With his ‘Best Of’ programme, Austropop icon Wolfgang Ambros returns to Merano in the summer of 2026. Since his debut with ‘Da Hofa’ in 1971, Ambros has been making his mark on the German-language music scene – more than 50 years later, with countless concerts and an impressive discography, he continues to thrill his audience with timeless classics and new musical ideas.

Which songs will be performed remains a surprise. However, Ambros promises an atmospheric programme and emphasises: ‘Of course, we can't play all the hits, but it's definitely worth coming to the concert.’

At his side, as always, is No. 1 from the Wienerwald, his long-standing band, with whom he shares a unique musical rapport. Günther Dzikowski, Dietmar Baumgartner, Erich Buchebner, Harry Stampfer and backing singers Ursula Gerstbach and Gitti Recher create the characteristic sound that underpins and brings Ambros' songs to life.

On the programme: hidden treasures, album gems, rearranged favourites and songs rarely performed live. Ambros knows his audience – and makes sure that, alongside new nuances, there is also room for those unforgettable moments that have long since entered the country's musical memory.
