Every year in Italy, the feast of Ferragosto, is celebrated on the 15th of August. The holiday refers to the Assumption of Mary into heaven and marks the hottest day of summer and is thus also considered the „turning point of summer “. The feast day begins with a High Mass at 09.00 a.m. in the parish church of Ortisei, during which the traditional consecration of medicinal herbs and flowers takes place. After the Holy Mass there is a folkloristic procession in the pedestrian area of Ortisei. The day will be musically framed by the alpine horns „Ladinia“ at 10.00 a.m. along the pedestrian area. At 9.30 p.m. there will be the concert with the "BIG BAND INTICA" in the town centre.
