World-class jazz fusion: Chris Minh Doky, Till Brönner, Manu Katché & Morten Schantz create an evening of infectious grooves and virtuosic sounds.
The grand finale of the 30th edition of Steinegg Live promises something truly special: a line-up of four outstanding international musicians bringing modern jazz, infectious grooves and world-class musicianship to Steinegg on 31 October 2026.
At the heart of the evening is Danish bassist, composer and bandleader Chris Minh Doky, internationally acclaimed for his expressive and melodic bass playing. Throughout his career, he has worked with major names including Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, David Sanborn and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Together with his musical companions, he creates a distinctive sound that combines Nordic clarity with an unmistakable American groove.
Joining him is Till Brönner, one of Germany’s best-known jazz trumpeters and an internationally acclaimed musician. His unmistakably warm trumpet sound meets the powerful yet highly sensitive drumming of Manu Katché – one of the most sought-after drummers on the international scene, known for his collaborations with Sting, Peter Gabriel and many other global artists.
On keyboards, Morten Schantz adds a contemporary dimension to the quartet’s sound. His electronic textures and atmospheric sounds create a bridge between classic jazz elements and a modern musical language.
The result is far more than a traditional jazz concert: cinematic soundscapes, driving grooves, virtuosic improvisation and remarkable musical dynamics come together on stage. The four musicians constantly listen and respond to one another, pushing each other forward and creating a sound that is both sophisticated and powerful – and never entirely predictable.
