Concert by Music Band Wangen

The Wangen Brass Band looks back on a long and rich tradition. Founded in 1797, it is one of the six oldest brass bands in South Tyrol. The village of Wangen itself, with around 360 inhabitants, is one of the smaller communities on the Renon plateau. Despite its modest size, the band currently counts 55 active musicians.

The band is led by an experienced and dedicated team: conductor Stefan Tammerele and chairwoman Franziska Burger play a key role in shaping both the musical and organisational direction of the ensemble.

For generations, the brass band has played a central role in the cultural life of the village. Through its performances, it enriches both religious and secular celebrations and makes an important contribution to the strong sense of community in Wangen.

Three major events define the band's musical year: the St. Joseph Concert in March, the Wangen parish fair in June, and the well-known Barthlmastag festival. Celebrated on 24 August at the Rittner Horn for almost 100 years, this traditional event is proudly accompanied by the Wangen Brass Band.
