Concert from the 2026 Summer Music Week featuring choral music from various styles and eras—a cappella and with instrumental accompaniment.
We present a diverse program of sacred and secular choral music spanning various eras and styles, featuring works by composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Fanny Hensel, Amy Beach, and Oliver Gies. The program includes pieces that "parody" melodies by well-known composers—for instance, the Spice Girls' hit "Wannabe" performed in the style of an English madrigal, Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" transformed into a "Kyrie," and Vivaldi's "Winter" adapted into a "Benedictus."
