Procession Corpus Christi

The feast of Corpus Christi is celebrated in South Tyrol every year on the second Thursday after Pentecost. Corpus Christi celebrating the abiding presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The parade of the traditional Val Gardena costumes starts at 7.35 a.m. from S. Antonio square, through the pedestrian area, to the parish church of Ortisei. Here, the Corpus Christi is celebrated with a solemn mass at 8.00 a.m. The mass is followed by a procession in which the entire village community participates with great devotion and in which the Blessed Sacrament is carried through the center of the village.
