Quixote – A Rose is not a Rose
A visionary journey through word, body and imagination: Industria Indipendente, one of the most original collectives on the Italian scene, presents a site-specific project at the Fondazione Antonio Dalle Nogare, created together with Annamaria Ajmone, a collaborator since 2019.
At the heart of the work is a guiding figure: a Don Quixote of the future who does not fight but imagines, transforming reality. The project grows out of a shared writing practice rooted in readings of Cervantes' novel and its rewritings — particularly by women writers who have expanded its meaning. From Kathy Acker to Monique Wittig, a constellation of references feeds an open structure of episodes, images and actions. The performance unfolds as a story in the making, without beginning or end, where different languages interweave.
Before and after the performance, the video Dammi i brividi ma non per la paura (2025) is screened, featuring the voice of Silvia Calderoni — the first chapter of a broader exploration of the Don Quixote figure.
Tickets are available online or at the box office of the Teatro Comunale di Bolzano.
