Transart26 - Dell'amore oscuro

Dell'Amore Oscuro is a transdisciplinary production by Zoe-Theater im Forst, born from Federico García Lorca's Sonetos del Amor Oscuro – a cycle of sonnets the poet composed in 1935, a year before his violent death, dedicated to his lover Juan Ramírez de Lucas. These verses are an outpouring of passion, carnality, and intimacy, strikingly lyrical and musical. Held in silence for decades by Lorca's family, they surfaced only in 1983 in a pirated edition, immediately becoming a cult object.

In Dell'Amore Oscuro, the word becomes body, movement, and sound. Dramaturgy, music, and dance meet on a single expressive plane, free from predefined hierarchies. Lorca's text becomes the root of an equal dialogue between artistic languages. On stage, a string quartet, an actor, and a dancer: six bodies who, each guided by their own discipline, interact to restore the immediacy and urgency of these words. Written by a man for one man alone, the sonnets transcend the particular in their very radicality and become universal: they evoke passion and fragility, stir the soul, and invite a profound sense of shared humanity.
