Mountain hike to Mandelspitze (2,395 m) with stunning Dolomite views, a stop at Stierbergalm and descent to Proveis.
We travel by bus through the Ulten Valley to just before St. Walburg, where the road crosses the Hofmahd Pass towards Proveis. The hike begins at the parking area on the summit of the Ulten–Proveis road.
The trail leads through spruce and larch forests, across clearings and alpine meadows, up to the Obere Kesselalm mountain hut. Before reaching the Stierbergalm, we continue on a very steep path towards the summit. Surrounded by impressive mountain scenery and after a demanding ascent, we finally reach the Mandelspitze. The breathtaking panoramic views over large parts of South Tyrol reward all efforts of the climb.
On the descent, we stop at the Stierbergalm for a break before continuing down to Proveis, where the bus awaits for the return journey.
