The Hochfeilerhütte was built between 1984 and 1986 by the Sterzing section of the AVS a little above the former Wiener Hütte. It serves as an ideal base for climbing the Hochfeiler and its neighboring peaks, as well as for high alpine transitions into the surrounding valleys.
