The Lärchensteig Holiday Home is idyllically situated at 1,430 meters amidst meadows and agricultural land, surrounded by the breathtaking backdrop of the 3,000-meter peaks of the main Alpine ridge. Inns and a grocery store in the village of St. Jakob are just a few minutes' walk away.
We lovingly converted and renovated the house using local materials. We rent it to groups and families via Airbnb or use it as our own holiday home. The large house offers space and beds for up to 12 people. It is divided into two 3-room apartments and a large attic, each with 4 beds and approximately 70 square meters of living space, which can be used separately or together as needed:
On the ground floor, there is a living-dining area with a kitchen and fireplace, two bedrooms, and a large bathroom. The ground floor is heated entirely by underfloor heating (pellets).
The apartment on the first floor has a separate entrance, a large living-dining area on the balcony, two bedrooms, a large bathroom with stone flooring and underfloor heating, and a small bathroom with a washing machine. All rooms and the large bathrooms have mountain views.
The attic, with its large open bathroom, is designed as a flexible, loft-like space and is therefore ideal for comfortable overnight stays, as well as a yoga or seminar room, a workstation with fiber optic internet access, or a play paradise for children. Whatever you do there, the large windows offer a fantastic view of the mountain scenery (even while showering!). There are no other guests/users in the house.
The house has stable Wi-Fi (fiber optic with 150 Mbit) and an Ethernet socket on the attic.
For the conversion and expansion of the old farmhouse, we used locally sourced materials such as (oiled) larch wood for the floorboards and silver quartzite in the hallway and bathrooms.
The agriculturally dominated, quiet Pfitscher Hochtal valley has largely been spared from mass tourism and therefore offers a relatively pristine mountain experience – ideal for mountain hikers, ski tourers, and cross-country skiers (the trails start directly in St. Jakob). For alpine skiing, you can either drive 25 minutes to Rosskopf, Sterzing's local mountain, or about 35 minutes to the large Racines ski area.
Please note: Agriculture ;) The house borders agricultural land. Accordingly, you may occasionally encounter cow patties, flies, or the smell of cow dung, pigs, or chickens.
