Ansitz Heufler by Norbert Niederkofler

Originally built by the Heufler von Rasen family, “Ansitz Heufler” is considered one of the most significant architectural examples of Renaissance architecture in the region. Until recently used as a private residence, the building has been carefully restored, preserving its authenticity and revealing original features such as intricately carved parlours — including the magnificent “Hearnstube” with its tiled stove — frescoed ceilings, vaulted rooms, and the historic “Rauchkuchl”, now reimagined as a cozy lounge bar area. Each of the ten refined suites tells a story — about this place, its legacy, and the people who have shaped it. The architectural approach respects the historic character of the building while harmoniously integrating contemporary elements with traditional Alpine materials. Since May 2025, Michelin-starred chef Norbert Niederkofler has been leading “Ansitz Heufler,” bringing new life to the historic residence every single day. “For me, Ansitz Heufler is a natural extension of our Cook the Mountain philosophy,” says Norbert Niederkofler. “Here, hospitality, culture, and local identity merge into an authentic experience.
