GUIDED RIDES ON THE ROPE ONLY FOR CHILDREN
Children swing themselves onto the saddle, pull on the reins and off they go into the forest, over hill and dale. They are always accompanied by experienced hands and guided by the rope. In this way, the offspring gain the necessary security and have an extraordinary riding experience through the local forests.

One of the most exciting ways to explore the picturesque landscape in the Upper Vinschgau Valley is by taking part in one of the guided horse-riding tours on a Haflinger – the typical breed of South Tyrol. The original Taufers/Tubre landscape in Monastero Valley is accessible for riding excursions in the summer and in the winter and makes an ideal location for riders. Children can jump on the back of a pony and take part in the excursion too. The program offers rides per hour, per half or full days, as well as riding lessons for beginners and advanced riders.
Lean back and indulge in a romantic sleigh ride: Let your horses carry you through snow-capped landscapes in an unhurried trot to the rhythmic sound of bells, with a soft winter breeze on your cheeks. Explore San Vigilio with the kids, your family or friends and discover fascinating white fields and forests, frozen streams and bizarre ice castles. It‘s guaranteed fun!

The Minert Riding Stable - Horse Love at First Sight
We’ve been in operation since the summer of 2022 and offer a wide range of activities for all horse lovers, whatever the season.
Enthusiasm for horses often starts at a very early age, so we give our youngest guests, from around 2 years old, the chance to have their first playful contact with horses. They get to groom and look after our ponies and horses in a safe environment and let them experience their first guided pony rides and attempts at riding. Pony time for the little ones can also take place in the company of their parents or in groups. Besides riding, there’s plenty of cuddling, playing, and child-friendly learning about horses with lots of fun, games and exercise.
Of course we also offer riding lessons for teenagers and adults (individually and in small groups), as well as unforgettable trailrides (for advanced riders) in beautiful natural surroundings, up to the Alpe di Siusi or Seceda. Whether training or relaxation, there is something for everyone!
Our balanced and well-trained westernhorses offer so much more than just riding. From vaulting to playful, therapeutic riding for children and young people with special needs and disabilities (including mobility impaired children) to ground work and horsemanship courses, horse-themed birthday parties, pony walks, professional photo shoots, colt starting and horse boarding (holidays with your own horse), there is something for everyone.
We take great pride in our approach to horse keeping, focused first and foremost on the well-being of our four-legged friends (Haflinger, American Quarter Horses, Appaloosa and Shetland ponies). To us, mindfulness, respect, and appreciation are simply a very important part of the horse world.
Our facility (an official ENGEA member) is only a 5-minute walk from the centre of Ortisei and has a 25x50m riding arena with a wonderful view of the Sella Massif, a round pen, bright 3.5x3m stalls, as well as spacious paddocks.

Riding lessons at our own riding arena for beginners and advanced riders as well as exciting excursions in a great landscape. A real highlight are the 1 to 3 day rides with an overnight stay on our hut.
Horse lovers can take riding lessons also for beginners in our paddock or make short rides or also day rides in the wonderful landscape of the Passeiertal Valley.
For experienced horsemen we offer exciting outings on horseback into our wonderful alpine landscape. You can choose whether you want your ride to last two hours, half a day, an entire day or two whole days. You will always be accompanied by our cross-country riding guide and riding instructor Alberich. We offer riding lessons for beginners and pony rides for children. At the Steinerhof, all horse-enthusiasts are guaranteed to enjoy themselves.

Riding in boundless freedom
Wherever you look in San Genesio/Jenesien, you cannot avoid noticing the Haflinger, a robust, undemanding and foot-sure variety of mountain horse. Once a workhorse for farmers, today it is considered a charming, versatile leisure horse, well-siuted to beginners and expert riders, adults and children alike.
In the land of the Haflingers
South Tyrol is the home of the gentle-natured and sturdy Haflinger horses, which are bred all over the world. Just like everywhere else in the country, there are excellent horseback riding opportunities in and around Lana, offering Haflingers and other breeds. Carriage rides across the town of Lana for the whole family are offered once a week during July and August.
Lana Equestrian Park and the Merano Riding Club
If you would like to get a closer look at the Haflingers, you might want to book a trial riding lesson. Many stables also offer guided tours on horseback or pony treks, as well as individual or group riding lessons. The Lana Equestrian Park offers a wide spectrum of services for accomplished riders and breeders, including livery, while the Meran Riding Club lets you discover the diversity of breeds and disciplines at their extensive riding facilities.
If you are more interested in horse racing and athletics, the Merano race track is the place to be.
Racing season at Maia Bassa
The Merano race track in Maia Bassa is the main meeting point for Haflinger fans every year, when the traditional Haflinger race is held on Easter Monday. At other times, the track hosts racing events with noble thoroughbreds from around the world. During the entire racing season from spring until autumn, fans can watch top sporting events with professional jockeys. The season highlight each year is the high-stakes 5000 m steeplechase event, the 'Meran-Forst Grand Prix', held in late September.
For animal welfare reasons, we can only provide our horses to individuals weighing up to a maximum of 80 kg.
Guests are welcome to assist in the care and feeding of the horses.
The Horse riding school Vöran is located between Vöran/Verano and Mölten/Meltina and has a wide range to offer passionate equestrians:

The horse riding school Verano is open all year round. A reservation is necessary.
The riding stable Sulfner offers courses for beginners, children's tours, individual or group lessons in the sand track for beginners and advenced students or trekking for several days and also carriage trips.

The riding stable was built in 2000. It is a big riding school and also a plcace where events are held.
There are also islandic horses. You can ride, take riding lessons and the children can participate in horse week during the summer.

The horse stable at the entrance of Val Gardena is open since 20 years. Try your experience on a horse trip through the nature of the UNESCO Dolomites or during a riding lesson in the ring. The typical Südtirol Haflinger horses are suitable for children who want to try the first attempt by horse.
The horse court Ansteingut offers exciting riding hours with riding company in the wonderful surroundings of the Vinschgau for kids and adults.
No matter if you want to collect your first experiences with a riding course in the Vinschgau (from 8 years) or if you are already an experienced rider, with us at the horse court Ansteingut you are at the right place!
12 horses and ponies are available for our guests for controlled rides or on our open riding place. How else you could explore the marvelous natural landscape of the river delta Prader Sand better, than on the back of the horses!
