    The Hochrautalm, or Alpine pasture Hochrautalm, is accessible from Taisten. It is preferable to travel to the starting point with the Citybus Welsberg-Taisten line 438. In Taisten, you start from the parking lot (€) above the mountain inn Mudler and enjoy a pleasant hike either along the forest road (marked with signs 31/5A/5) in about 90 minutes or, alternatively, take the forest road first and then the shortcut (marked with signs 31/5A/5C) in about 40 minutes. Once you reach the Hochrautalm Alpine pasture, you can indulge in South Tyrolean specialties for both young and old, as well as enjoy a breathtaking view towards Antholz and Kronplatz. Marvel at gentle green hills and distinctive mountains... All of this combined with delights like dumplings or apple strudel! Or perhaps you'd prefer a burger?

In every season we are a perfect base from which to set off on fantastic nature adventures. The refuge offers an inviting dining room with bar, which can accommodate up to 120 people. Also a traditional parlour (“Stube”) with 40 seats is available at the lodge. A sunny terrace in summer and winter offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views and the delicious food.

    The Wieserhütte, idyllically located in the Altfasstal Valley, is a popular destination and a great starting point for hikes to the Seefeld Lakes and other trails. It is particularly family-friendly, easily accessible with strollers or mountain bikes. The hut offers its own dairy products, cozy evening events, and overnight accommodation – but only during the summer season. In winter, the Wieserhütte is open during school holidays, while outside this period there are some closing days to keep in mind. Please note that overnight stays are not available during the winter months. The Wieserhütte can be reached in approximately 90 minutes from the parking area in the Altfasstal Valley.
