From there go steeply uphill on a forest path to the mountain pasture. Alternative: reachable also from the mountain station Rosskopf Monte Cavallo across the Ridnauner Höhenweg

The classic Ahrntal valley Pressknödel (pressed dumplings) and the homemade cakes are a must-have at the hut. A special highlight is the famous "Melchamüis" from Rosa - enjoy the traditional dish. Our hut is located at 1955 meters above sea level in the hiking area Karersee, right next to the middle station of the chairlift at the Paolinapiste. On our beautiful sun terrace with breathtaking views of the Rotwand directly above us, the Latemar, or the huge glacier world of Adamello, Cevedale, Ortler, Weißkugel etc. you can relax and unwind wonderfully. Our rustic alpine hut in the Dolomites is a popular and rewarding destination for hikers and bikers in summer. In winter we are also happy about ski tourers, snowshoe hikers and skiers.

The opening hours in summer are the same as those of the mountain funicular. The opening hours in winter are the same as those of the skiing area. From Vals to the Nockalm it takes about 1 hour.

From Obertal (1.298 m) in Jaufental, turn left to the hamlet of Ontratt and follow the alpine road respectively the new created hiking trail into the valley. Along the trail we cross the Gurgl cascade, which rushes imposingly over rocky territories and pulverizes the water-molecule. Continuing on trail no. 12A, we take the last few metres before reaching the Bergalm mountain pasture with its alpine dairy.

In the cold season our hut is a popular destination for winter hiking, snow shoe hiking and ski touring. In addition our hut is located on the cross country track Kasern/Casere.
