The South Tyrol Strawberry Trail leads through the picturesque natural and cultural landscape of Val Martello and is walkable all year.

Schnalswaal irrigation channel has been in use for more than 500 years and offers plenty to see: a Waalerhütte hut, a functional Waalschelle bell, chestnut woods, steppic vegetation, and, of course, Juval castle.

According to a legend recorded by Ignaz Vinzenz Zingerle, two children once found a sword made of pure gold here. This sword was stuck in the earth, and couldn’t be completely pulled out. When they returned the next day, a man dressed in old-fashioned attire led them to the grotto behind the waterfall where there were magnificent chambers. That’s where the man revealed to them that he was waiting to be released from a curse: Only he who was able to completely draw the sword from the ground would be able to save him. The sword and the man in the old-fashioned clothing were never seen again.

The newly created lake trail runs along the lakeshore at the Zoggler Reservoir. Ideal for a leisurely walk with child and four-legged friend, for jogging and Nordic walking. The lake path is suitable for baby carriages. If you want, you can also walk around the lake.

The walk near the city provides visitors with countless breath-taking views and can be recommended at all times of the year. Even in deepest winter there are plenty of opportunities for observing nature, as the local microclimate ensures that it is exceptionally mild here throughout the year. As we walk along the "Knappensteig" path, passing by entrance to old mine galleries, we take a journey into the past and time when the extraction of ore was just beginning. Above the tree line, we feast upon a richly diverse mountainous world - in one of the country's most beatiful high valleys. The widespread distribution of the alpine cabins demonstrates the cultural imprint of people over centuries. The interesting remnants of glaciers can be seen in the form of old moraines at the Rötalm hut - and "Merbalm".

Escape from everyday life and enjoy nature on this popular half-day tour in Ladurns. You start at the Ladurns mountain station and follow the Ladurns circular trail in the direction of Hinkerboden. Impressive panoramic views and idyllic Alpine pastures await you along the way, including Wastenegg, Hirschlackn and Toffring. The route continues along the Dolomieuweg and the 6-Almen-Weg to Pfoffnberg, Hauseben and the Allrisstal valley. Along the way, the Ladurnerhütte, Edelweisshütte and Allriss Alm offer cosy refreshment stops. The end of the tour takes you down to the Bront power spot near St. Anton in the Pflersch Valley. A perfect place to recharge your batteries.

Along the way you can find information panels about the history and culture of qine, as well as giant-size items used in winegrowing: a "Reber" (vine knife), a "Moster" (pounder) and a "Pazeide", an ancient wine and measuring vessel on the village square.

The name Kastelruth comes from the name „Castellum Ruptum,” which means “destroyed castle.” Historical documents have revealed that a magnificent fortress stood on the Calvary hill.

Ski racers and mountaineers Hans and Paola Steger made their mark on the Seiser Alm like no other, before or since. Pioneers of mountaineering in the Dolomites, they made an immense contribution to the development of skiing on the Seiser Alm: The Hans & Paola Steger trail pays homage to their achievements. Info boards lining the route provide a host of information on the nature and culture of the Seiser Alm. A magnificent Dolomite panorama accompanies hikers along this leisurely yet fascinating trail. 

A hidden natural spectacle reveals itself to hikers at the head of the valley called Ridnauntal: the waterfalls of the Burkhard Gorge, which can be reached by following a panoramic trail.

Starting from the mining museum in Maiern, a marked hiking track leads through shady coniferous forests alongside the Fernerbach, a babbling glacial stream. The romantic, approximately one metre wide hiking trail winds through meadows and forests, past lush mossy expanses.

The wild glacial stream tumbles over a steep precipice that is surrounded by trees and bushes. Wooden bridges lead to panoramic observation decks with breathtaking views of the bizarre Ridnaun mountains and the secretive heart of the vast gorge, enabling hikers to experience the amazing contact with the power of nature up close.

The Pinot Noir walkway leads through the Pinot Nor growing area along the Trudner Horn/Monte Corno Nature Park and the characteristic villages of Auer/Ora, Montan/Montagna and Neumarkt/Egna. The Pinot Noir growing area in Montan and Mazon/Mazzon is one of the most famous in Italy. Furthermore you walk through several monuments and historical places. The walkway is family-friendly and not dangerous.

The round trail Gaismair is about 15 kilometers long in a range from 950 to 1200 m above sea level and it runs through and around the town of Sterzing. On the path there are short steep and uneven passages and therefore some segments are not very suitable for strollers. Along the trail lies the village of Tschöfs, where the farmer's son Michael Gaismair was born in 1490. He studied law and stood up for the rights of the farmer population during the peasant uprisings.

Experience genuine Ladin tradition on a walk through the Ladin viles and admire the ancient architectural style of a bygone era. The viles are groups of wooden or masonry houses and wooden barns that stand close together in the middle of a slope or on the edge of green terraces. They are compact nuclei exposed to the sun, built to protect each other and help with the agricultural products that everyone produces, whether milk, eggs or meat, but also with the various handicraft activities that everyone carries out, while preserving the little arable land available.
