Ahrntal Sun Trails - Leonardi Trail
    Ahrntal/Valle Aurina, Ahrntal/Valle Aurina

The trail leads you to a truly unique sight: the artist Jakob Oberhollenzer’s exposition park that includes a series of breathtaking life-size wooden sculptures. You’ll quickly realize however that this is a trail every bit as much about the journey as the destination. You will see stunning scenery, views of life in this valley from long ago to now, farm work, art and reflections of times past. The trail starts in St. Jakob and goes along the sunny path above the village through fields, forests and after a short distance along the old “Mühlweg” it brings you back to where you started. At various spots hikers get a look into rural-life and farm work through texts and images. The focus is on the themes: “From grain to bread”, “From flax to linen” and “Woodwork in the forest” in the course of the various seasons. In addition, there is the possibility to experience going bare-foot and treading in the refreshing glacier water. The trail is named after the patron saint Leonhard, the advocate for farmers and their diverse interests. Religion and popular beliefs have left a lasting impression on rural-life here. You can walk back from the Sculpture Garden along the street directly to the village. Or the longer route takes you past some of the local farms, past the bus stop in front of Gasthof Garber and then back to the car park.

    Around Trodena/Trodena
    Truden/Trodena
Due to its isolated position, Trodena still retained many testimonies of what men have conceived, built and transformed here over the centuries. On the circular route of Trodena we will learn about the centuries-old urban culture. From the town square we move towards the upper part of the town, pass in front of a 700-year-old lime tree and walk along the paved road up to the entrance to the town. From there we follow trail marker 3 to a parking lot. From the panoramic road (3A) we come to a viewing platform, a sort of balcony. from which we can admire the "3 horns": Corno Nero, Corno Bianco and Monte Corno. This is where the geological "line" of Trodena develops. The view over the roofs of Trodena testifies to the division of the farms that has taken place for generations. We then walk until we reach the Via Cislon. From here we follow trail no. 1 to return to the starting point of Trodena, which we will reach through the historic center.
Tip: take a walk in the village to discover the "The walls tell" project ... The brochure is available at the tourist office. Also discover the Monte Corno Visitor Center

Anterivo Trail of Legends (Sagenweg Altrei)
    Altrei/Anterivo

Above Anterivo/Altrei, a small mountain town on South Tyrol’s language border, some mythical figures are making trouble for some time. Through oral transfer, people of Anterivo have succeeded in preserving their legends until the present day. The local library has collected and written down the legends with children of Anterivo. The primary school staff and pupils used this as a chance to develop the "Trail of Legends".

The hiking trail, which is about 2 km long, starts at the "Lärchenheim" and passes massive larch trees and a partly dense forest until it reaches the sports centre "Ebnerrast".

Circular hiking trail from Neumarkt/Egna via Laag/Laghetti to Buchholz/Pochi
    Neumarkt/Egna, Alto Adige Wine Road

In 1494, the famous German artist Albrecht Dürer travelled for the first time to Italy. His final destination was Venice. Because of the flooded Adige valley, he had to bypass from the cloister St. Florian in Egna/Neumarkt to Buchholz/Pochi. During his stay in the Segonzano Castle, he created a few of his most important watercolors.

A Part of the path is accessible today.
Starting from the pilgrims hospice “Klösterle” in St. Florian, the hiking path number 8 leads to Laag/Laghetti. From here to Buchholz/ Pochi we pass the famous “roman” bridge. To Garbe and Laag and back to Klösterle, you have to leave the Dürerweg just before the village of Buchholz and follow trail no. 3.

    NEW International Felt Art Trail
    Tisens/Tesimo, Meran/Merano and environs

The NEW International Felt Art Trail in Tesimo is a short circular themed trail, that cleverly maintains a balance between nature, culture and tradition. The original International Felt Art Hiking Trail was brought to life in 2003 by Hildegard and Josef Winkler, in order to raise awareness of sheep farming and the production of wool. In 2011 the Tesimo-Prissiano tourist information association in cooperation with the municipality of Tesimo and the South Tyrol Felt and Wool Association revived this themed trail. At that time, around 50 felt art items on the theme of “The natural world related to the existing landscape - the Garden of Eden” were installed along the trail, nestling in nature. All felt sculptures were made from natural, South Tyrolean sheep’s wool. The wool for this was sent to 12 different countries around the world and then returned as finished works of felt art. “It comes from nature. And back to nature it goes.” was one of the thoughts behind the project.
The idea has remained – however the location has changed:
In 2023 this themed trail moved locations to the “schulARTweg” (school ART trail) in Tesimo. 30 felt artworks can currently be found along the NEW Felt Art Trail to which new works will regularly be added. You can find more information on all of the current felt artworks on the NEW Felt Art Trail here: https://bit.ly/3E1tZB3
The original and now former Felt Art Trail will still be open to hikers as a forest hiking track and will be signposted with wooden signs containing the single word "Filzkunstweg” (the German for “Felt Art Trail”). Please read the description below for the route of the NEW Felt Art Trail.

    The Pinot Noir Trail

The Pinot Noir Trail in the south of South Tyrol is a new educational path where you can learn more about our land’s culture and its wines. It winds through the famed Pinot Noir vineyards and along the Trudner Horn Nature Park. It starts at the quaint villages of Auer, Montan, and Neumarkt in the Unterland district and leads you through Italy’s best Pinot Noir terroirs in Mazon, Glen, and Pinzon. You can choose between a 16-km-long one-day outing or three half-day tours.
Along the way, hikers and strollers will encounter various historical spots and cultural highlights – e.g., the significant archeological sites of Castelfeder, the oldest segment of the Fiemme Valley railway, St. Stephan’s Church in Pinzon with its late-Gothic Altar by the Master Hans Klocker, the idyllic St. Michael’s Church in Mazon, the ruins of Kaldiff, and the handsome Enn Castle. Along the way, information panels and interactive stations will help you learn more about this unique wine-growing area and its history.
