Fly to South Tyrol

Eager to fly to our region? Then learn more about the best flight connections and transfers.

South Tyrol’s closest airports are Verona and Venice to the south and Innsbruck to the north. Additional airports in the area include: Munich, Treviso, Bergamo, Bologna and Milan. South Tyrol’s airport is located in Bolzano/Bozen.

Airports where you can land

South Tyrol’s  Bozen Dolomiten regional airport  is located on the southern outskirts of the capital city.

Sky Alps offers regular scheduled flights from major German cities such as Düsseldorf, Berlin, Hamburg as well as from Antwerp and Copenhagen to Bolzano/Bozen and return.

The  SASA city lines  10A and 10B run at regular intervals between Bolzano Airport and the city centre, as well as the bus and railway stations in Bolzano.

Taxi stands are located directly in front of the Bolzano railway station as well as at the airport terminal. The transfer from the railway station to the airport takes about 15 minutes.

 Verona Valerio Catullo Airport  is located approx. 150 km from Bolzano/Bozen and is very well connected to South Tyrol by both train and transfer buses.

 Aerobus line 199 will take you from Verona Airport to Verona Porta Nuova railway station in 15 minutes, from where there are trains to South Tyrol every hour. Departure times and tickets for the trains are available here.

Or take advantage of the DB/ÖBB cooperation's combi-ticket for Aerobus line 199 and the railway. Tickets can be booked online at Deutsche Bahn (German Railways) DB or in all travel centres of the Deutsche Bahn AG, as well as at the departure terminal counter opposite the check-in counters at Verona Airport (labelled with the DB logo).

The Südtirol Bus  service operates multiple daily transfers from the airport. Connections to South Tyrol include a wide range of  stops as well as direct onward travel to your accommodation throughout South Tyrol.

Airport Line1 offers shuttle bus service and VIP shuttle service to Bruneck/Brunico and environs.

 Innsbruck Airport  is located approx. 120 km north of Bolzano/Bozen and is well connected by both train and transfer buses.

 The F bus line from Innsbruck Airport  arrives at Innsbruck main station every 15-30 minutes. The bus leaves from the airport’s main building and the journey to Innsbruck’s main station takes approx. 20 minutes.There are railway connections  to South Tyrol on the half and full hour.

The Südtirol Bus  service operates multiple daily transfers from the airport. Connections to South Tyrol include a wide range of  stops as well as direct onward travel to your accommodation throughout South Tyrol.

The Innsbruck - Meraner Land airport shuttle bus service  runs every Saturday from April to November from Innsbruck airport directly to your holiday accommodation in Meran/Merano and environs (Algund/Lagundo, Dorf Tirol/Tirolo, Hafling/Avelengo-Vöran/Verano, Lana, Marling/Marlengo, Meran/Merano, the Passeiertal valley and Schenna/Scena).

Airport Line1 offers shuttle bus service and VIP shuttle service to Bruneck/Brunico and environs.

 Marco Polo Venice Airport  is located approx. 270 km from Bolzano/Bozen and approx. 200 km from Bruneck/Brunico.

From the airport, the Venezia Mestre and Venezia Santa Lucia railway station can be reached via the express buses operated by ATVO and ACTV. From there,  trains  depart several times a day via Verona to South Tyrol.

 Flixbus  offers daily long-distance bus connections from Venice Marco Polo Airport via Verona directly to South Tyrol.

Guests interested in travelling to the eastern part of South Tyrol can reach Cortina d'Ampezzo with the  Cortina ExpressFlixbus or ATVO (line 29) and then continue with public transport to Toblach/Dobbiaco, Innichen/S.Candido, or Bruneck/Brunico.

Cortina Express also offers daily connections from Venice Airport to the Alta Badia region and back from July to September and from December to March.

Airport Line1 offers shuttle bus service and VIP shuttle service to Bruneck/Brunico and environs.

 Treviso Airport  is located approx. 190 km from Bolzano/Bozen and Bruneck/Brunico.

From the airport, the Treviso railway station can be reached with shuttle bus line 6 of the ACT . Trains depart from there several times a day via Verona to South Tyrol.

The Treviso Airlink also runs to Treviso railway station every 30 minutes. The ticket can be booked online at  www.trenitalia.com.

Guests interested in travelling to the eastern part of South Tyrol can reach Cortina d'Ampezzo with the  Cortina Express, and then continue with public transport to Toblach/Dobbiaco, Innichen/S.Candido, or Bruneck/Brunico.

Cortina Express also operates the Treviso - Alta Badia route daily from July to September.

 Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport  is located 240 km from Bolzano/Bozen.

From the airport, the railway station in Bergamo can be reached via shuttle bus . From there,  trains  depart several times a day via Verona to South Tyrol.

Long-distance bus provider Flixbus departs several times a day directly from Orio al Serio Airport via Verona to Bolzano/Bozen, Meran/Merano and Brixen/Bressanone.

 Guglielmo Marconi Bologna Airport  is located 240 km from Bolzano/Bozen.

With the Marconi Express airport shuttle bus service, you can get directly to the main station of Bologna in a few minutes. From there, continue on several times a day with the Italian National Railways or the trains of Deutsche Bahn (DB) railways and the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) to Bolzano/Bozen or up to Brixen/Bressanone and Sterzing/Vipiteno.

Two airports are located in Milan: Milan Malpensa  and  Milan Linate. These airports are approx. 320 km and 270 km from Bolzano/Bozen respectively.

Milan Malpensa has excellent shuttle bus connections to Milano Centrale main railway station. From Milano Linate, there are  several lines leading to Milano Centrale main railway station. More information about timetables and tickets to and from the airports is available  here. From Milano Centrale main railway station,  trains  depart several times a day via Verona to South Tyrol.

 Munich Airport  is located approx. 300 km north of Bolzano/Bozen. Several operators provide transfer services from Munich Airport to South Tyrol.

Munich Airport can be reached via public transport from Munich Central Station. There are several direct daily connections from Munich to South Tyrol by train .

Flixbus departs from Munich Airport several times a day directly to South Tyrol.

Südtirol Transfer will pick you up directly at your Flixbus stop and take you to your South Tyrolean holiday accommodation and back to the FlixBus stop after your holiday.
