Carnavalstraditie "Zusslrennen"
The 'Zusselrennen' is an unique custom in Prad, which is the highlight of the carnival. The characters, the 'Zusslen', are dressed in white vestments with coloured bows and creped paper flowers on. They are carried out by men who bear cowbells, which mostly weight over 20 kilos. The procession should show the fertileness. Therefore also farmers, farm labourers, maidservants and waggoners with their implements are protagonists and try to banish the winter.After the procession the 'Zusslen' still run through the village and make noise with their cowbells.
