Catinaccio-Latemar
The realm of the dwarf king Laurin, and the nixies of the Lake of Carezza/Karersee
Over 530 kilometres of signposted walking trails criss-cross the Catinaccio/Rosengarten and Latemar Dolomite massifs and form South Tyrol’s most intensive network of pathways. Most trails and climbing routes begin in small chocolate-box scenic mountain villages, surrounded by hamlets and old picturesque farm houses. South Tyrol’s most important place of Pilgrimage, the monastery of Maria Weissenstein, is located in the village of Pietralba/Petersberg.
